Аннотация: In 2004, at a time when I received my Australian citizenship, I decided to complete a second Master’s degree. My choice of course to complete was a Master of Business Administration. This was so because I had been appointed Director of Studies of a private English language teaching college in Sydney, Australia. I had no experience of management, apart from being a Senior Teacher and IELTS Coordinator before. In 2005, I finished this postgraduate degree with high distinction in Financial Management. Ever since 2005, I have sought to pursue further studies in Finance. This only happened in 2017 with the opportunity to stop working and benefit from a stipend in order to complete a PhD in Financial Accounting. But before 2017, I had worked for the Commonwealth and the Westpac banks in Australia. I had also worked for two Mortgage Brokers in Sydney. All in all, this professional experience cemented my interest in Financial Accounting and the use of ratios. This link between the subject matter in this book and my background does not explain my choice of study object in this book – i.e. Indigenous corporations. What does, in reality, is my African heritage.
