Аннотация: HRD is a process of advancing the human knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to enable them to work efficiently and there by achieve the organisational excellence. Organisations are nothing but the agglomeration of human beings to bring animation in the organisation functioning. However, the animate factor, the human being, can alone handle, channelise and transform the inanimate factors such as physical, financial, technological, market and time into goods and services so as to serve the common purpose of individuals, organisations and society. This is due to the fact that human potentialities are elastic vis-a-vis of their counter parts. Hence the performance of organisations is sum of the direct contribution of the human beings. But human beings suffer from many ills like lethargy, lack of knowledge, skills and interests. Further they always resist to change which is the prime factor in all the endeavours of organisational life. To overcome the maladies.... physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual of human beings, they have to be trained, through appropriate measures in order to convert them into human capital.
