Sexual violence against children and adolescents in the state of Pará. An analysis of the news published by the Diário do Pará newspapers between 2010 and 2014

      Аннотация: There are many cases of sexual violence against children and adolescents in the state of Pará, and this situation has become a cause of great concern for those engaged in tackling this type of violence. Through data collected from one of the most widely circulated newspapers in the state of Pará - O Diário do Pará newspaper, in 2010 and 2014, we sought to find out about the incidence of sexual violence in the state, specifying the gender of the victims, their relationship with the abuser and the places where it occurs most frequently in the state of Pará. Through weekly visits to the Tancredo Neves Cultural Foundation of Pará (CENTUR), data was collected and then transformed into tables to be analysed. Our research confirmed the sad reality of these children and adolescents in our society, and there are already actions to tackle them, but there is still much to be done. On this basis, greater dissemination of information about government actions to prevent and combat abuse is indispensable and increasingly necessary, as is encouraging local communities to report cases.
