Аннотация: In the field of dental implantology, the critical evaluation of risks and benefits is extremely important to avoid complication. Dental implants may fail due to several reasons, with a range that differentiates between a failure and a complication. Failures have been related to biologic, microbiological, biomechanical, biomaterial implant surface treatment and characteristics. Many factors are attributed to immediate failure of the dental implant either directly or indirectly. Reducing the likelihood of complications requires improved case selection, identification of systemic issues that can lead to difficulties, and better treatment planning.
